Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt patient Kael Adams was named the official “stick kid” of the National Hockey League (NHL) All-Star competition held in Nashville last weekend. Discover Card and the NHL awarded Kael and his mother, Kara, with an “ultimate NHL All-Star Weekend fan experience.” Kael, 11, was born with a complex heart condition known as Taussig-Bing Anomaly and has been a Children’s Hospital patient throughout his life.
