Jul. 12, 2018—Nurse researchers have a powerful new outlet to share their work with the Vanderbilt community. It’s called The Empowered Nurse, a twice-yearly, peer-reviewed journal for and about nursing research. The Office of Nursing Research released the first issue in May in celebration of Nurses Week.

Near-death experiences focus of Octoberfest lecture

Nov. 5, 2015—Most of the people who work in critical care medicine have cared for patients who have had near-death experiences, but many patients are reluctant to discuss such experiences with caregivers, said Debbie James, MSN, R.N., a critical care nurse and senior nursing instructor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
