Jan. 22, 2019—The 19th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture was held on Monday and commenced with the United Voices of Vanderbilt choir’s stirring rendition of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
Jan. 7, 2019—Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM) honored six pioneers for their historic contributions to education, science and medicine during a formal portrait unveiling at Langford Auditorium Dec. 17, 2018. The event, hosted by the Office of Diversity Affairs, was held as part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Dec. 13, 2018—Nominations are being accepted for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award, which will be presented Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, to a faculty or staff member in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing or Medical Center who emulates through his or her work the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Nov. 1, 2018—The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Office for Diversity Affairs held the second annual Hidden VUMC Figures event Oct. 29 in Light Hall.
