Vanderbilt University Medical Center has again been named to Forbes magazine’s list of “Best Employers for New Graduates.”

VUMC was one of only seven Tennessee employers — and the only health care entity in the state — to make the 250-member list.

“While our workforce is comprised of individuals of all ages, it is rewarding to see that new graduates chose the Medical Center for this distinction. The health of our organization is reliant on the ability to attract and retain talented individuals,” said C. Wright Pinson, MBA, MD, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Health System Officer for VUMC.

To determine the list, Statista surveyed 20,000 young professionals working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions.

The respondents were asked to rate their employers on a variety of criteria, including safety of work environment, competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement, effectiveness of diversity and inclusion efforts and openness to telecommuting.

Statista then asked respondents how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others, and to nominate organizations in industries outside their own.
