Jul. 9, 2013—Vanderbilt School of Nursing’s Health Systems Management program is offering a Lean Methodology in Health Care course this fall. Lean is a quality improvement methodology first developed by Toyota and applied to numerous industries, including health care.
Jun. 27, 2013—April Kapu, MSN, R.N., APRN, has been elected a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP). AANP fellows are selected based on outstanding contributions to clinical practice, research, education or policy.

May. 16, 2013—Executive Chief Nursing Officer Marilyn Dubree, MSN, R.N., presented the 2013 State of Nursing address to a packed audience in Light Hall Tuesday, and the key message was that all Vanderbilt nurses will play an important role in helping the organization navigate through the puzzle of health care delivery.

Jan. 31, 2013—Under the Nurse Referral Bonus Program, Vanderbilt will pay $2,500 to any employee who successfully refers a BSN nurse with at least one year of prior experience for a full-time nursing position, with additional incentives also available.
