AAMC lauds Hill’s contributions to health care equity
Nov. 9, 2017—The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) honored nine individuals and one medical school for their outstanding contributions to academic medicine at an awards presentation Nov. 5 at the AAMC’s Annual Meeting in Boston.
Emergency tabletop exercise scheduled for Nov. 7
Oct. 30, 2017—Vanderbilt’s Office of Emergency Preparedness, Fire and Workplace Safety will host representatives from across the university who play a key role in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery for an emergency tabletop training exercise on Nov. 7.

School of Nursing receives HRSA grant for Clinic at Mercury Courts mental health providers
Oct. 26, 2017—The two-year Title VIII grant from the Health and Human Services Administration allows the Clinic at Mercury Courts, a nurse-managed primary care clinic located in one of Nashville’s most economically depressed areas, to add a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, social worker and psychiatrist to its existing primary care team.
VU and VUMC partner to redesign Mental Health Services
Oct. 26, 2017—After two years of study and numerous listening sessions with students, postdoctoral fellows and providers, Vanderbilt has made the decision to transition to a new integrated model of care for campus resources that address mental health and well-being services for all students and fellows.

Vanderbilt’s Buntin, Denny elected to National Academy of Medicine
Oct. 16, 2017—Vanderbilt University’s Melinda Buntin, Ph.D., professor of Health Policy and chair of the department, and Joshua Denny, M.D., M.S., professor of Biomedical Informatics and Medicine and Vice President for Personalized Medicine, are among 70 new members elected to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), the organization announced this week.
