Vanderbilt University Medical Center selected for CMS-led initiative promoting better cancer care

Jun. 30, 2016—The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) today announced that it has selected Vanderbilt University Medical Center to participate in a care delivery model that supports and encourages higher quality, more coordinated cancer care. The Medicare arm of the Oncology Care Model includes more than 3,200 oncologists — about one-fifth of U.S. oncology specialists — and will involve approximately 155,000 Medicare beneficiaries nationwide.

Major grant to transform region’s clinical practices

Oct. 1, 2015—Vanderbilt University has received a contract from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for up to $28 million over four years to help more than 4,000 clinicians in the Southeast transform their clinical practices in ways that improve quality of patient care and hold down costs.
