VICC launches creative writing class focused on cancer journey

Sep. 8, 2017—Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) is offering an expressive writing course for cancer patients and others who have been affected by the disease. This year’s “Express Yourself: Fall Creative Writing Series” is provided to anyone interested in learning about expressive writing, and participants will have the opportunity to create original writing in a safe, supportive environment.

Sep. 15, 2016—The Science of Song symposium explored the use of music and singing to help people with developmental disabilities like autism improve their social skills, and others with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) recover from the traumatic events they’ve experienced.

Sep. 2, 2015—Health care professionals who care for cancer patients can experience strong emotions with limited opportunities to cope with or express those emotions. During September, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and its partners are offering a series of free writing seminars for those health care professionals.
