Sep. 27, 2012—The Chemical and Physical Biology Admissions (CPB-A) Program, an inter-departmental first-year graduate admissions program at Vanderbilt University, has been renamed the Quantitative and Chemical Biology (QCB) Program.
Probing the roots of depression by tracking serotonin regulation at a new level
Jun. 27, 2012—An interdisciplinary team of scientists have successfully tagged a protein that regulates the neurotransmitter serotonin with tiny fluorescent beads, allowing them to track the movements of individual molecules for the first time. This capability makes it possible to study the manner in which serotonin regulates mood, appetite and sleep at a new level of detail.
Digestive disease research bolstered by grant renewal
Jan. 20, 2012—The Vanderbilt Digestive Disease Research Center celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with a second five-year renewal of its federal research grant.
