Metastatic pancreatic cancer ‘reprograms’ for malignancy

Jan. 19, 2017—Metastatic pancreatic cancer — cancer that has spread from the pancreas to other tissues and is responsible for most patient deaths — changes its metabolism and is “reprogrammed” for optimal malignancy, according to new findings reported Jan. 16 in Nature Genetics.

Study in East Asians identifies genes tied to colon cancer risk

Aug. 21, 2014—Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of death among populations around the world. While diet, physical activity and other lifestyle factors can influence the risk of developing the disease, hereditary factors also play an important role.
