Apr. 1, 2016—Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos discussed the implementation of the university’s Academic Strategic Plan, the university and Medical Center transition to two separate legal and financial entities, groundbreaking research, and the university's examination of what community looks like at Vanderbilt in his Spring Faculty Assembly address.
Mar. 28, 2016—Vanderbilt University has received a $1.5 million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to establish a new Center for Digital Humanities. The trans-institutional initiative will further Vanderbilt’s commitment to becoming a national hub of innovative digital humanities scholarship.

Jan. 21, 2016—Fourteen outstanding faculty members from across the university have been named to the 2016 class of Chancellor Faculty Fellows. The class comprises highly accomplished, recently tenured faculty from the humanities, social sciences, life and physical sciences, and clinical sciences, as well as business, education and engineering.
Nov. 9, 2015—Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos today launched the University Courses initiative, a key component of Vanderbilt’s Academic Strategic Plan, to promote new and creative trans-institutional learning at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
Oct. 20, 2015—The Faculty Senate, in partnership with Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan Wente and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Dean of the School of Medicine Jeff Balser, will host a second town hall meeting on the VU-VUMC reorganization Friday, Oct. 30.
Oct. 19, 2015—A university working group has established the model for a new office that will provide pre-award support for university faculty grant and contract proposals to external funding agencies following the VU-VUMC reorganization. A search for the new office's director also has been launched.
Sep. 10, 2015—VISE is keeping its acronym but changing its name. The Vanderbilt Initiative in Surgery and Engineering will become the Vanderbilt Institute in Surgery and Engineering.
Mar. 27, 2015—Vanderbilt IT has formed a new Audio/Visual Design and Support Team to raise all classrooms to today's digital standards and offer support, training and day-to-day repairs.
Mar. 24, 2015—Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in town hall meetings to learn more about progress and provide input on key initiatives of the Academic Strategic Plan.
