Mellon Foundation awards $1.5 million to Vanderbilt for new Center for Digital Humanities
Mar. 28, 2016—Vanderbilt University has received a $1.5 million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to establish a new Center for Digital Humanities. The trans-institutional initiative will further Vanderbilt’s commitment to becoming a national hub of innovative digital humanities scholarship.

Chancellor launches University Courses trans-institutional initiative; proposals due Dec. 14
Nov. 9, 2015—Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos today launched the University Courses initiative, a key component of Vanderbilt’s Academic Strategic Plan, to promote new and creative trans-institutional learning at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
Reminder: Faculty Senate town hall on Vanderbilt reorganization is Oct. 30
Oct. 20, 2015—The Faculty Senate, in partnership with Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan Wente and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Dean of the School of Medicine Jeff Balser, will host a second town hall meeting on the VU-VUMC reorganization Friday, Oct. 30.
Working group-designed model for pre-award grant contract support and director search launched
Oct. 19, 2015—A university working group has established the model for a new office that will provide pre-award support for university faculty grant and contract proposals to external funding agencies following the VU-VUMC reorganization. A search for the new office's director also has been launched.
Surgery and engineering initiative becomes institute
Sep. 10, 2015—VISE is keeping its acronym but changing its name. The Vanderbilt Initiative in Surgery and Engineering will become the Vanderbilt Institute in Surgery and Engineering.
New Vanderbilt IT team to upgrade classroom technologies, offer support and training
Mar. 27, 2015—Vanderbilt IT has formed a new Audio/Visual Design and Support Team to raise all classrooms to today's digital standards and offer support, training and day-to-day repairs.
