Mar. 15, 2018—The Vanderbilt University School of Medicine student-run Shade Tree Clinic was founded in 2004 as a means to provide primary care to Nashville’s uninsured population and to allow medical and nursing students to receive valuable hands-on training while providing healthcare to those in need.

His lecture is part of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine’s Flexner Dean’s Lecture Series.

Feb. 22, 2018—About the same time a Vanderbilt University School of Medicine panel discussion on gun violence prevention ended Feb. 14 in Light Hall, a heavily armed young man barged into his former high school in Parkland, Florida, and opened fire on students and teachers, killing 17 and injuring others.
