Online forum on diversity and inclusion attracts more than 750 from VUMC community
Jun. 11, 2020—Led by André Churchwell, MD, Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Vanderbilt University and Chief Diversity Officer at VUMC, the hour-long conversation, spurred by the nation grappling with the death of George Floyd and other black Americans, was meant to encourage members of the VUMC community to discuss racism and unconscious bias, and offer an opportunity to support and engage with each other during this particularly difficult time.
Unconscious bias training for managers launched
Apr. 19, 2018—Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion has formally launched training for managers to support the Medical Center’s strategic direction to “Make Diversity and Inclusion Intentional.” The first training for this initiative is Unconscious Bias for Healthcare Professionals.
