School of Nursing launches Tennessee’s first master of nursing degree to prepare registered nurses
May. 25, 2022—Vanderbilt University School of Nursing has launched a Master of Nursing (MN) degree to help meet the high demand for registered nurses in health care settings throughout the nation. The program aims to attract people looking for a career change or those with a bachelor’s degree in another field. Applications are open and will be accepted through August. The program will begin in spring 2023.

Jan. 16, 2020—The nurse-midwifery education program at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is scheduled to be reviewed by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) Board of Review (BOR) for continuing accreditation March 31-April 2.
School of Nursing celebrates grand opening of building expansion
Jan. 28, 2019—Vanderbilt University School of Nursing opened a new $23.6 million building expansion containing a state-of-the-art simulation lab, technologically advanced classrooms and student services offices with a grand opening and ribbon cutting event on Jan. 22.
VUSN honored for efforts to recruit, retain men in nursing
Oct. 3, 2018—The American Association for Men in Nursing has named Vanderbilt University School of Nursing a Best School of Nursing by the American Association of Men in Nursing (AAMN). The honor recognizes a school for significant efforts in recruiting and retaining men in the nursing profession.
