Dec. 17, 2014—Vanderbilt’s McAfee VirusScan for Mac subscription is set to expire Dec. 31, 2014. Vanderbilt will continue to offer VirusScan through Dec. 31, 2015, providing customers with a year to migrate from VirusScan to SCEP.

Nov. 25, 2014—Support of Clinical Workstations and a portion of the IT Help Desk transitioned to Dell in October. In the second phase of this transition, LAN Management Services (LMS) will move to Dell beginning February 2015.
Nov. 10, 2014—Last weekend, hackers launched a significant phishing attack against Vanderbilt email users.
Oct. 14, 2014—As of Oct. 1, support of clinical workstations and a portion of the IT Help Desk have transitioned to Dell.
Oct. 3, 2014—Beginning Oct. 15 at 7 a.m., the Vanderbilt IT Network Security team will implement a change that imports a new certificate and will result in cost savings and improve support.

Sep. 25, 2014—Vanderbilt IT, the Vanderbilt Institute for Digital Learning and Vanderbilt School of Medicine will host the 2014 EDUCAUSE Annual Conference’s Virtual Conference Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 at several locations across campus and the medical center.
Sep. 16, 2014—Vanderbilt plans to publish “soft records” for email servers Sept. 22 as part of the Sender Policy Framework. SPF empowers mail exchangers to differentiate between authorized Vanderbilt email servers and those merely posing as such.
Sep. 2, 2014—Effective Oct. 1, Dell will provide Help Desk and clinical workstation support at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
