In-building AT&T cellular coverage infrastructure will be down throughout the Medical Center from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, while the existing fiber optics lines are relocated as part of the Godchaux Hall construction project.
The outage will impact all AT&T wireless phones, including AT&T push-to-talk phones used by the RRT, STAT, Case Cart, Surgical areas and others, inside all buildings on the Medical Center campus, including Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Affected personnel will be asked to report to LifeFlight for a radio device before their shift in order to ensure communication is available to staff who use AT&T wireless phones as part of their job responsibilities.
Cell service outside the buildings should not be impacted. Some cell phones may be able to work around the outage by using the WiFi network to place a call.
