BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University Medical Center announce long-term agreement

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Tennessee’s largest health benefit plan company, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Tennessee’s major quaternary health care provider, announce a new long-term network agreement.

The LifeFlight legacy: 40 years in 40 photos

Since July 1984, LifeFlight has made 76,942 flights and transported 80,118 patients. It’s transported another 37,133 patients since its ground transport program began; critical care ground transports number 4,188.

State of the Department of Medicine address highlights tremendous growth 

Department of Medicine clinicians see patients in 19 counties across Middle Tennessee as well as the surrounding region. There were 86,096 outpatient visits for fiscal year 2024, an increase of more than 25,000 visits over fiscal year 2023.

Lakmini Kidder named Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Revenue Officer

In her new capacity, Kidder will assume responsibility for overseeing all aspects of VUMC’s integrated revenue cycle, encompassing hospitals, clinics, the Vanderbilt Medical Group and Vanderbilt Integrated Providers.

Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s clinicians will staff the Cancer Center at Cookeville Regional Medical Center

Through this agreement Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and advanced practice nurses will be Cookeville Regional’s exclusive providers of cancer services.

Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital: 5 years
