This afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. LifeFlight will touch down outside the Country Music Hall of Fame for part of an evening gala to be held at the museum celebrating LifeFlight‘s 20 years of service to
Middle Tennessee.
Demonbreun Street in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame will be closed between Fourth and Fifth Avenues to allow for the helicopter‘s landing. The street will remain closed for several hours this evening
until the celebration concludes.
Who: Vanderbilt LifeFlight will celebrate 20 years of service to the Middle Tennessee community.
What: Dinner honoring LifeFlight‘s founders and featuring three families who were served by LifeFlight this past year.
The patient families include:
Barrett Harris, an infant in respiratory distress who was transported from Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville. Barrett‘s parents are Neal and Audrea Harris.
Jacqui McDaniel, who was injured on a scooter in Rutherford County (Murfreesboro). Jacqui wasn‘t wearing a helmet and hit a tree. Her parents are Don and Susan McDaniel.
Teresa Pickney and her five children. Teresa Pickney is the wife of the late Michael Pickney. Pickney and his company partners with Amprite Electric were in a Nashville plane crash. All eventually perished from
their injuries; however, Pickney did survive for a few hours post-crash and was transported to VUMC. Thanks to the efforts of a LifeFlight nurse Pickney was able to visit with his family one last time before
his passing.
When: Monday, June 20. Helicopter lands at approximately 4 p.m. Guests begin arriving for the dinner at 7 p.m.
