Thomas Nantais, MBA, has been named Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s executive vice president for Adult Ambulatory Operations and will join the Medical Center’s senior leadership team on Sept. 21.

More than 300 nurse practitioners and physician assistants from 40 states visited the Vanderbilt University Medical Center campus last week to attend the seventh annual Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Critical Care Boot Camp.

More than 200 investigators from across the globe who specialize in islet biology, the study of hormone-producing cell clusters in the pancreas known as islets, recently gathered in Nashville to share knowledge and present the challenges and successes of their work during the first Islet Biology Workshop at Vanderbilt.

While there has been much effort to control spending for individuals eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare in the United States, for the first time a team of Vanderbilt health policy researchers have analyzed spending trends for this population over a multiyear period in order to gain a much clearer understanding of exactly how much is being spent and by whom.
