Couple’s gift spurs pediatric allergy research, training

Kathy Delzell Anderson and her husband, Steve, know firsthand how allergies can affect a person’s overall health and well-being. Kathy is a lifelong allergy sufferer, and the couple’s son, Clint, has seasonal allergies.

Flulapalooza mass vaccination event takes place Oct. 11

Flulapalooza 6 will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, and will offer staff, students and volunteers free flu shots. The event will take place in a large tent erected between Light Hall and Veteran’s Administration (VA) Hospital from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Annual cancer survivorship celebration slated for Nov. 6

Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s 2016 Cancer Survivorship Celebration will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. The annual event is being hosted in partnership with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Breast imaging’s Huff dedicated to precision

A series of beautiful photographs of turquoise waves curling over a sandy beach sits above the desk of John Huff, M.D. An accomplished photographer whose work has been exhibited at shows in Nashville as well as regional invitational shows in Louisville, Birmingham, and the International Center for Photography in New York, Huff said most people think the framed photos are all the same image. But each photo is slightly different and to him, it is the details that matter.

Chalk Fest

Professional artists, hobbyists and art enthusiasts from around the country created sidewalk chalk art in Hillsboro Village Sept. 24-25 during the second annual Nashville Chalk Fest, which benefits the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, specifically the Preschool for Children with Autism and the Mama Lere Hearing School.
