In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, reduce paper waste and strengthen its commitment to information security, the Eskind Biomedical Library is implementing the print payment system already in use at other Vanderbilt libraries and computer labs.
This change, which replaces the current honor pay arrangement, is expected to take place during the week of March 4.
Once installed, printing will require a Commodore Cash account, purchase of a guest print card at EBL using a credit card or 1180, or prior procurement of a departmental card through the Card Office.
The cost for printing will be the same as other Vanderbilt libraries, 5 cents per side and 10 cents for a double-sided sheet.
Color printing will be available at 25 cents per side. Printing from personal and EBL laptops also will be available. To further encourage going paperless, options are being investigated to allow easier delivery to email and saving to USB flash drives.
