Bob Mangeot has been promoted to Vice President and chief compliance officer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, having served in the role on an interim basis since December while a leadership search was ongoing.
Mangeot joined VUMC in 2014 as revenue cycle and reimbursement compliance officer. His promotion is effective April 1.
Mangeot will lead the Office of Compliance and Corporate Integrity, whose mission is to ensure and promote the highest standards of business ethics.
The office is charged with identifying and mitigating risks associated with potential accidental or intentional violations of laws and regulations, and ensuring that programs, systems and controls are in place to promote lawful and compliant operations throughout VUMC.
Mangeot will oversee planning, implementation, operations and strategic review for all compliance matters involving VUMC’s clinical, research and academic enterprises, including development and implementation of system-wide training and communications programs to ensure all employees and affiliated parties are educated about VUMC’s compliance program.
He will report to Michael Regier, general counsel and secretary.
“Those who know Bob know he will bring great energy, creativity, experience and focus to his new role, and are very much looking forward to working with him as VUMC’s chief compliance officer. Please join me in congratulating Bob and in wishing him great success,” Regier said.
Before joining VUMC, Mangeot served as vice president for revenue operations at DaVita Inc., an international dialysis services provider headquartered in Denver.
Certified in health care compliance in 2016 by the Health Care Compliance Association, Mangeot is also a certified public accountant and holds a BA in accounting from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.
“VUMC is a place that truly values integrity and ethics in everything we do,” Mangeot said. “We’re a leader in that, just like we’re a leader in patient care. I’m excited to help the compliance program continue to serve and support the VUMC community.”
