Scenes from Paws on the Plaza

On Wednesday, May 11, the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Plaza became home to a whole lot of four-legged love. That’s when the Nashville Humane Association, in partnership with VUMC, presented its first “Paws on the Plaza” event, which is set to bring a litter of puppies to the plaza each month from May through October.

Although this is not an official adoption event, all puppies are available for adoption through NHA following the event. While NHA offers Bark Breaks throughout the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area, we are thrilled to be the first hospital to enter this partnership. Photos by: Susan Urmy

That’s when the Nashville Humane Association, in partnership with VUMC, presented its first “Paws on the Plaza” event, which is set to bring a litter of puppies to the plaza each month from May through October. These aren’t official adoption events, so no puppies can be reserved on the day of the event. But if you find a puppy you love, you can start an application.

Humane association personnel have information about the puppies’ name, age, breed and, potentially, where they came from. All dogs adopted out will be spayed or neutered and up to date on immunizations. The humane association will have one puppy handler per canine to keep track of things and will provide floor coverings and cleanup.
