Vanderbilt University School of Nursing's Karen D'Apolito, Ph.D., R.N., was recently honored by the National Perinatal Association for her efforts to enhance maternal and child health causes.
D'Apolito was recognized for developing the Inter-Observer Reliability Program for the Finnegan Neonatal Abstinence Scoring System Tool, which helps measure opiate withdrawal in neonates.
“Karen's commitment to helping mothers and infants with drug addiction is exceptional,” said Linda Norman, D.S.N., senior associate dean for Faculty.
