Beginning next week and continuing through the summer, the VUMC Reporter will alternate each Friday between publishing a printed edition and an online edition.
The regular weekly printing schedule will resume in late August.
In addition to significant cost savings, the move also reduces paper consumption.
“Like every other unit in the Medical Center, we had to take a hard look at our budget and find ways to reduce expenses,” said Doug Campbell, editor of the Reporter.
“Producing an online issue every other week helps accomplish that. It will also encourage greater interactivity with our Web site and allow us to run more stories than we would otherwise be able to fit into the regular weekly printed edition.”
Regardless of whether it’s a print issue or an online issue, the Reporter will continue to bring you the latest news about Vanderbilt Medical Center’s people and programs each week.
