Events highlight need to ‘Do the right thing’

Vanderbilt’s Compliance Office will be hosting several events next week as part of Corporate Compliance and Integrity Week.

Go to the office’s Web site, www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/compliance, for more information.

The purpose of the weeklong program, Do the Right Thing, is to promote the mission of the office, which is to ensure that Vanderbilt and its employees comply with all applicable laws and policies and adhere to strict conflict-of-interest standards.

On Tuesday, May 27, a lunch and learn session with Robert Ossoff, M.D., and James Snell, M.D., will be held at noon in 411 Light Hall. Lunch will be provided to the first 40 attendees.

The Compliance Caravan — where employees can learn about the Compliance Office and celebrate doing the right thing with prizes and food — will be set up at several locations, including:

• May 27 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the skybridge at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt;

• May 28 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the VUH Courtyard;

• May 29 — 4-6 p.m. outside Eskind Biomedical Library ;

• May 30 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Light Hall’s south lobby.

Throughout the week, the office will feature a daily trivia question on its Web site.

Those who answer all questions correctly will be entered into a June 2 drawing to win an iPod Nano.
