Books from Birth of Middle Tennessee is hosting its second annual fundraising event, a Beach Blanket Benefit, Nov. 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club.
The casual evening will include food and drink, music from Smokey and the Impossibles and dancing.

Books from Birth of Middle Tennessee provides a free, age-appropriate book to children in Davidson, Sumner and Williamson counties once a month, from birth until age five. It is the literacy initiative of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which is sponsored by the Dollywood Foundation and the Governor's Books from Birth Foundation.
