Anderson to direct Learning Center
After 16 months as interim director, Nancy Anderson, M.P.H., has been named director of the VUMC Learning Center. Anderson reports to Chief Learning Officer Peter Giammalvo, Ph.D.
“I'm honored and excited,” Anderson said. “I have been very fortunate during the interim period to be part of a great department, working with quality, experienced and supportive colleagues, and I look forward to our continued collaboration and work on future endeavors.
This is a very promising time for the organization, and I'm particularly pleased to be working with Peter as he sets about moving forward organizational learning and leadership development. With his guidance, and with strong support from Vice Chancellor Jacobson, Dr. Bill Stead and other leaders, ongoing learning will be playing an even greater part in our organizational culture.”
With offices on the second floor of the Medical Center North Round Wing, the Learning Center provides orientation and role-specific training, helps staff meet job competencies and regulatory requirements, and offers programs for teamwork, career development and nursing continuing education. The center also supports VUMC leadership development and helps patient care centers and departments during start-up, transitions and culture change.
