Senate Forum to be held March 25

The Senate Forum on University Governance will take place March 25 in Room 140 of Frist Hall from 4:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The session will begin with brief remarks from a panel of faculty and administrators on the faculty role in university governance. An open discussion will follow. Panelists include former Senate Chairs Virginia L. Shepherd, professor of Medicine; Amy-Jill Levine, Carpenter Professor of New Testament Studies; current senator Arnold W. Strauss, M.D., James C. Overall Professor of Pediatrics and chair of the department; and senior academic administrator Richard McCarty, dean of the College of Arts and Science.The forum will conclude with an open discussion. Any faculty member may raise a question for discussion, either in person at the forum or by sending an e-mail before March 25 to senate@vanderbilt.edu.
