Donna Williams has been named an assistant administrator at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Williams has taken on the role of director of Perioperative and Procedural Services at the hospital. Williams began her career as a surgical R.N. and most recently was the director of Surgical Services at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis.

“I am excited to come to Vanderbilt Children’s,” Williams said. “This is a tremendous opportunity. Right now I’m taking it all in, getting to know the staff and the systems here. Everyone had told me what a great team of people we have here and I have been impressed with how committed they are.”

A Seattle native, Williams says the South is like a second home. She worked for five years at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky. as director of Surgical Services before leaving for Milwaukee.

Williams received her B.S.N. from the University of Washington in 1974 and received her Masters of Science in Nursing degree in community health nursing from the University of Kentucky in 2000.
