Doug Campbell has been named editor of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Reporter.
He succeeds Jessica Howard, who has been named editor of On Their Way, the quarterly magazine of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Campbell, who served as editor of the Reporter from 1995 to 2000, most recently served as managing editor of Amusement Business, a weekly entertainment industry trade publication. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
In her new position, Howard, who has a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, will also edit the Children's Hospital annual report and report and write other Children's Hospital news.
“I know Jessica will do a great job with On Their Way, and if you have to change editors at the VUMC Reporter, it's a real luxury to bring back somebody like Doug who already knows how to do the job superbly,” said Wayne Wood, director of publications for News and Public Affairs.
The department also publishes Lens, a quarterly science magazine; Vanderbilt Medicine, the alumni magazine of the School of Medicine; EQ, a quarterly benefits and HR insert into the VUMC Reporter; Momentum, the newsletter of the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center; and House Organ, the monthly employee magazine of VUMC.
