Dermatology schedules skin cancer screening
VUMC’s division of Dermatology has scheduled its annual staff and faculty skin cancer screening for Wednesday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to noon., at the Dermatology clinic on the third floor of The Vanderbilt Clinic.
The event is an opportunity to get a free, full-body exam by a dermatologist — an exam which is recommended by the American Cancer Society for everybody over the age of 20. Screenings are offered by appointment only, and there are a limited number of slots. To schedule an appointment, call 322-7823 and leave a message with your name and number. A Dermatology staff member will call back to schedule a screening appointment.
Those who wish to have their children or other family members also receive a skin screening may consider attending the Nashville Dermatological Society’s annual community skin cancer screening on Saturday, May 4 from 8 to 11 a.m. That event, which includes the participation of dermatologists from all over the community, is hosted on a rotating basis by several local hospitals; this year’s event is at Baptist Hospital. No appointment is necessary.
