Ash Wednesday is March 5, and several services are scheduled for both Vanderbilt University Hospital and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt University Hospital
Imposition of Ashes will be available in the VUH Chapel on the first floor of the hospital during the following times:
- 6-8 a.m.
- noon-1:30 p.m., with service liturgy noon-12:30 p.m.
- 5-6 p.m., with service liturgy 5-5:30 p.m.
Staff, patients or family members who are unable to come to the chapel may page the VUH chaplain on-call at 615-835-1010, for a chaplain to come to your unit.
Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt
Imposition of Ashes will be available in the Chapel on the second floor of the hospital during the following times:
- 6:15 – 7:45 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m., with liturgy read 11:30 a.m. – noon
- 6:15 – 7:45 p.m.
For patients, families, and staff physically unable to come to the chapel, a chaplain can be paged to bring ashes to the floor via the Pediatric on call pager, 615-835-1012.
