Founder of East Nashville Wellness Center, a nonprofit mental health and substance use clinic for the underserved.
Earned his MD from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine.
Completed his psychiatry residency at Vanderbilt and won the research award for studying accelerated aging in late-life depression.
“I chose psychiatry after seeing firsthand how seriously problems with mental health and substance use could limit people’s lives, as well as what treatment could do to help. Seeing musicians lost to overdose and suicide hits particularly hard. On my and Caitlin’s third date, we were commiserating over our similar experiences with the poor state of mental health and substance use treatment in the area. Over the next year and a half, we started sketching out some numbers, and the idea of working at a nonprofit that served the community I lived in started to make more and more sense. East Nashville is my home, and when we opened in 2021 it had no psychiatrists.”
