Volunteers needed for Flulapalooza 6

Volunteers for nonclinical roles, including helping with patient flow, are needed for this year’s Flulapalooza, Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s mass influenza vaccination event. Flulapalooza 6 will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, in a tent between Light Hall and the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Registration open for SPARK autism study

Led by the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s Zachary Warren, associate professor of pediatrics, the SPARK study is looking for individuals of all ages with a professional diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to become part of the largest autism study ever undertaken in the United States.

Free colon cancer awareness event is Aug. 5

For some people, cancer—especially colon cancer—is a persistent and potentially deadly visitor affecting family members from one generation to the next. Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, in partnership with the Colon Cancer Alliance, is hosting a free seminar to educate the public about risk factors associated with the disease.
