André Churchwell, professor of medicine, biomedical engineering and radiology and radiological sciences and senior associate dean for diversity affairs at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, was recently named to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows.

Fourteen outstanding faculty members from across the university have been named to the 2016 class of Chancellor Faculty Fellows. The class comprises highly accomplished, recently tenured faculty from the humanities, social sciences, life and physical sciences, and clinical sciences, as well as business, education and engineering.

John Gore, director of the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science, has been named a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Fellowship is granted to “academic inventors who have demonstrated a prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on society.”

For more than a decade, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine has honored faculty members for outstanding accomplishments and contributions in teaching and research during its annual Spring Faculty Meeting.

Vanderbilt University may nominate five candidates for the 2016 Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Clinical Investigator Award.

Vanderbilt University may nominate one candidate each from the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing for the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation’s Faculty Scholars Program.
