Dance Marathon to raise funds for Children’s Hospital
The Vanderbilt University Dance Marathon is set to kick off its ninth year on Friday, Feb. 18.
The annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals event, led by Vanderbilt University students, raises money for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
The marathon is at the VU Student Recreation Center. It begins at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, and finishes at 8 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 19.
Marathoners will spend 13.1 hours dancing, eating and having fun while also raising awareness about the families cared for by Children's Hospital.
Participants will hear stories from patients' families who benefit from the fundraising.
Dance Marathon is both the largest philanthropic and the largest student organization on campus.
The previous eight marathons raised more than $900,000 for Children's Hospital, and the organization expects to surpass the $1 million milestone.
Event tickets are $10 at the door. For more information, please go to www.vudm.org.
