Hansell to fill new post as VCH’s director of pulmonary services
Douglas R. Hansell has joined the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt as director of Pulmonary Services, a newly created position.
Previously, Hansell was the program manager for Complex Cardiac Services at The Children's Hospitals and Clinics, Minneapolis. He received his bachelor of science in Health Occupations at Virginia Commonwealth.
“We are thrilled to have Doug Hansell join the VCH leadership team. His leadership background in pediatric respiratory care, ECMO and cardiovascular services will serve us well as we continue to evolve these services within VCH and the medical center,” said Pat Givens, assistant hospital director for Nursing and Clinical Services.
“He will be involved in strategic planning, program development and administrative oversight for these areas. It is anticipated that Doug's role will expand to include other responsibilities in the future.”
Hansell is currently seeking a masters of science in Organizational Management.
He has authored or co-authored approximately 50 articles and presentations.
His wife, Brenda, has also joined Vanderbilt as the administrative officer for the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
