Carol Sanders, R.N., acting assistant manager for the Stem Cell Transplant/Hematology clinic, recently received the Excellence in Oncology Nursing Award from the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society.
She was nominated by several of her peers for her many contributions to oncology nursing, including serving as a patient advocate and role model for other nurses.
Sanders has been instrumental in using evidence-based medicine, and helped write the autologous stem cell transplant patient education book that includes nutrition, medications, reportable signs and symptoms and central line care.
