Dr. Yi-Wei Tang, associate professor of Medicine and assistant professor of Pathology, and director of Molecular Infectious Disease Laboratory, has been elected as an editor of Journal of Clinical Microbiology.

Sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology, the journal publishes the most current research on the microbiological aspects of human and animal infections and infestations, with emphasis on their etiologic agents, diagnosis, and epidemiology.

Tang is the second editor for this journal from Vanderbilt. Another Vanderbilt editor is Dr. Richard D’Aquila, Addison B. Scoville Jr. Professor of Medicine and the Chair of the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine.
