Since joining Vanderbilt Health in 2004, he has helped shape how congenital and acquired heart disease is diagnosed and managed for patients across the region.   

The award recognizes Fogo’s pioneering discoveries and lasting impact on understanding the pathophysiology and diagnosis of kidney disease.

Consuelo Wilkins, MD, MSCI, is recognized for her visionary leadership and national impact in clinical and translational research.

The Division supports Vanderbilt Health’s various entities such as Vanderbilt University Hospital, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt Health Services, along with Vanderbilt Health’s regional hospitals and ambulatory clinics.

Established in 2008, the Credo Award recognizes individuals who consistently demonstrate exceptional credo behaviors — that is: They make those they serve the highest priority; respect privacy and confidentiality; communicate effectively; conduct themselves professionally; have a sense of ownership; and are committed to their colleague. 

Rose, associate professor of Biomedical Informatics and Health Policy, will succeed Keith Meador, MD, ThM, MPH, the Anne Geddes Stahlman Professor of Medical Ethics, who has directed the center since 2012.

Meador has integrated ethics into the daily life of clinical departments at Vanderbilt Health. Under his direction, the center expanded its reach across specialties, establishing programs in surgical ethics, pediatric ethics and maternal-child health.
