Three Vanderbilt University faculty members have been elected this year to membership in the National Academy of Medicine, a prestigious, non-governmental organization that advises the nation and the world on important aspects of medical science, health care and public health.

Vanderbilt's Charlene Dewey, MD, MEd, MACP, professor of Medical Education and Administration and director of the Center for Professional Health, recently received two inspiration awards for Women in Medicine month.

Vanderbilt's James Crowe Jr., MD, has received the Building the Foundation Award from Research!America, a national biomedical research advocacy organization.

David Vinson has been named Senior Vice President for Diagnostic Laboratory Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Wesley Self, MD, MPH, a physician-scientist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has been named co-principal investigator (co-PI) of Vanderbilt’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA).

Vanderbilt's David Calkins, PhD, has been selected by the Research to Prevent Blindness and Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology to receive the 2023 David F. Weeks Award for Outstanding Vision Research.
