VUMC named among top 100 U.S. hospitals

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has once again been named among the “100 Great Hospitals in America” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has once again been named among the “100 Great Hospitals in America” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

According to Becker’s, hospitals included on the list are “some of the most prominent, forward-thinking and focused health care facilities in the nation and are home to many medical and scientific breakthroughs, provide best-in-class patient care and are stalwarts of their communities, serving as academic hubs or local mainstays.”

To create the list, Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team analyzed data from numerous sources, including U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics’ 100 Top Hospitals, HealthGrades, Magnet Recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the Studer Group and the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program to establish the 2013 list. Hospital nominations were also accepted and evaluated by the Becker’s editorial team.

Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis was the only other Tennessee health facility to make the list.
