Lauren Hackett, MPA, executive director of Administration and chief business officer for Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC), has been elected to serve on the Finance Committee for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).
Founded in 1995, the NCCN is a not-for-profit alliance of 27 leading cancer centers, including VICC, devoted to patient care, research and education. The organization is dedicated to improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of cancer care so that patients can live better lives.
Hackett, along with Michael Neuss, M.D., chief medical officer for VICC, already serves on the board of directors for NCCN. She has served on review panels and program committees for the Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI) and the Cancer Center Administrators Forum (CCAF), sits on advisory boards of several other National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers, and has participated in more than 16 NCI site visits.

Through the leadership and expertise of clinical professionals at member institutions, NCCN develops valuable information resources that serve as guideposts for the cancer community. NCCN creates clinical practice guidelines appropriate for use by patients, clinicians and other health care decision-makers to ensure that patients receive the most effective therapies.
World-renowned experts from NCCN member institutions, including VICC, diagnose and treat patients with a wide variety of cancers and are recognized for dealing with complex, aggressive or rare cancers. These leading health care institutions pioneered the concept of a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care and they conduct innovative research that contributes to understanding, diagnosing and treating cancer.
