This workshop is the first in the Leadership, Education and Development Series (LEADS).
The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt presents “Managing the Happy, Crabby and All Those in Between,” which will bring together speakers from different entities of business to speak about what it takes to manage staff effectively and efficiently, what makes a good manager and how they relate to staff, guests, patients, customers and players, and each person will share how they motivate and encourage their staff or customers to work cohesively.
The speakers for this workshop include:

- J. Derek Hall, manager, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
- Alice Conner, senior sales director, Mary Kay Cosmetics
- Michael Burcham, president & CEO, the Entrepreneur Center and senior lecturer of Entrepreneurship, Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School
The workshop will be held Tuesday, May 7, from 8-10 a.m. with light breakfast served. It is free for VUMC staff and $50 for non-VUMC staff. Space is limited; registration required. Available live or online.
