The Vanderbilt University School of Medicine’s Emphasis Project celebrated its final iteration in a poster presentation April 25, in the north lobby of Light Hall. The project paired first-year medical students with a research faculty member to complete an 18-month project. Led for the better part of a decade by the late Dennis O’Day, M.D., Lillian Nanny, Ph.D., has served as interim director for the program, which ends this year. Here, Margot Lazon, left, a second-year medical student, explains her Emphasis poster project to fellow second-year student Travis Ladner. (Photo by Susan Urmy)
