Charlene Dewey, M.D., assistant dean for Educator Development and associate professor of Medical Education and Administration, has been selected as an honoree by the YWCA and its Academy for Women of Achievement (AWA).
Dewey, along with five other women from Middle Tennessee, were inducted into the AWA and honored with a dinner at the Omni Nashville Hotel in October.
The AWA uses the annual event to recognize women whose leadership inspires others to succeed, and proceeds go to the YWCA.
In addition to Dewey, other honorees this year were the Rev. Judy Cummings, senior pastor at New Covenant Christian Church; Margaret Dolan, principal at Neil Strategies LLC; Paula Lovell, founder of Lovell Communications; Linda Peek Schacht, founding director of the Nelson and Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership at Lipscomb University; and Leigh Walton, member at Bass, Berry & Sims.
