Vanderbilt will conduct a test of the VUMC Notification System at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22.
The system is used to send important messages, such as computer system downtime information, to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center community. The primary methods used will be email and clinical workstation pop-up screens. Notifications can also be sent by text or phone call to employees who have set their preferences for Non-Emergency messages in C2HR. The clinical workstation pop-up screen is the same screen used for AlertVU messages, which is used for imminent danger situations.
The VUMC Notification System rapidly sends messages to the delivery points in its database. All employees are automatically enrolled in the system using their Vanderbilt email address. Employees can register other contact points, such as cell or home phones, text messaging, or personal email accounts to receive VUMC Notification System messages when away from their Vanderbilt email accounts. When messages are sent, they may be targeted specifically only to email, only clinical workstations or other delivery points depending on the nature of the information and the needs of the audience.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to update their contact information at least annually, or as needed. To update your contact information, proceed to the C2HR system. Once you’ve logged in, access and update your personal contact information and then check the appropriate box to either receive or opt-out of the Non-Emergency messages.
If you have problems with these steps, please contact Tim Hunter in the VUMC Department of Emergency Preparedness at tim.hunter@vanderbilt.edu.
