Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Strategic Marketing team is on a quest to get rid of old and outdated VUMC logos, and it needs help from the VUMC community to make the removal project possible.
Following the unveiling of new visual identity standards for VUMC in 2010, the Medical Center community was urged to make the change to the new set of logos as quickly as possible. Now, eight years later, the old ‘buzzsaw’ logo still lurks in places such as presentations, signage, web-based forms, linens, floor designs and screensavers, among others.
If you encounter the old logo, please alert Strategic Marketing by emailing buzzsaw@vumc.org with a photo, a description of the item on which the logo was found (i.e. signage, linen, etc.) and the item’s location. Do so by Oct. 26 and you’ll automatically be entered into a drawing for two tickets to a regular season Nashville Predators game.
Maintaining a consistent visual identity is an important component of the Medical Center’s strategy for conveying a strong brand image. By following VUMC’s visual guidelines, such as using standard templates for PowerPoint presentations, stationery and other materials and never altering VUMC’s logos or creating your own, you play an important role in building our brand.
