Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) will host a two-day symposium for health care professionals working with rural populations in February.
Presentation topics at the “Rural Healthcare Providers Symposium Focused on Cancer Care and Delivery” include cancer prevention and early detection, telehealth efforts in rural communities and resources for rural providers.
The symposium takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Feb. 27 and from 8 a.m. to noon on Feb. 28 in Conference Room 898J of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.

Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Lisa Piercey, MD, MBA, will deliver the keynote address.
The discussions will be led by Debra Friedman, MD, MS, E. Bronson Ingram Chair of Pediatric Oncology and co-leader of the Cancer Health Outcomes and Control Research Program at VICC; Pamela Hull, PhD, associate director for Community Outreach and Engagement at VICC; and Tuya Pal, MD, Ingram Professor of Medicine and associate director for Cancer Health Disparities at VICC.
